Proper Wine Cellar Organization

Every wine collector should first understand that a wine cellar, wine chiller or coolers are necessary to keep wine tasting fine and smooth. The wine cellar can be the place where you put all of your bottles together so that they may age or mature and still keep their fine taste. The ideal temperature and humidity will make your wines last as long as you want them to.

Your wine fridge should be organized to be able to manage your collection properly. Wine cellar organization is arranging your bottles systematically according to their brand, kind, color, region, and year. Through this, you may save time as you will know where a particular wine is stored so you can choose the wine to put in your wine chiller before serving.

When you employ wine cellar organization, you will get to know each bottle of your collection, track the stocks, and then know which one to consume first.

There are different ways of organizing your wines.

1.   Classify your Wines

You may do this by grouping your wines according to their brand, which is useful when the bottles are bought by bulk; variety, which means storing together those of the same variety like Chardonnays and others so that when you think of a good pair for your food, you know where to start; price, which refers to the monetary value your bottles have; region, which refers to where the wine originated from; and color, which refers to white and red wines.

2.   Label your Wines

Rather than having to pick up each bottle and turning it to see what’s written on the label, it is better to hang tags on the bottle necks and use these to see the bottle’s name. It saves time and it keeps the bottles safe from breaking.

3.   Place the Wines in an Accessible Area

When you know that this bottle needs to be consumed soon, then don’t place it at the back. Put it in an area where it is easier for you to get it. Also, if it is your favorite or is a popular request among guests, then put it in a more accessible area.

4.   Document your Inventory
Arranging your bottles in a wine cellar or wine chiller is not enough. You need to keep an inventory to know which wines have already been opened or consumed and which ones need replacement. You are also able to guard your collection from theft.

5.   Software Programs to Track your Wines

There are already so many programs on the internet that are available for tracking your wine collection. There are apps which you can download for free. No longer will you get limited with the Excel spreadsheet as there are already numerous applications and software to use.

Wine collection is a hobby and a science at the same time. So invest in a wine cellar or in a wine chiller or wine coolers. Relax At Home is where you can find the best quality wine fridges.
